Chris Eagles over the moon to join Charlton Athletic

20 February 2015

Chris Eagles has revealed his delight at signing for Charlton Athletic, having penned a short-term deal at The Valley.

The 29-year-old, who has been without a club following a short stint at Blackpool, will stay with the Addicks until the end of the season and could make his debut in Friday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Wigan.

"He will be with us on Friday and I'm sure he will help us," said head coach Guy Luzon.

"He is an attacking midfielder who can also play behind a striker. He is a player with quality and a good character."

Eagles, whose other clubs include Bolton and Burnley, scored against the Addicks for Blackpool earlier in the season and has been training with the club since Monday.

"I came down Monday, trained, had a fitness test and everything was alright," Eagles added. "Then on Wednesday night I agreed to it. I just wanted to get it done.

"I've had a great feeling about being here, it's a massive club.

"I'm over the moon to be here and as soon as I knew they wanted to sign me it didn't matter what they offered me I just wanted to be here."
