Capital One team up with Sky for Twitter Amplify Campaign

Capital One (@CapitalOneUK) have extended their ownership of this weekend’s Capital One Cup Final with a brand new Twitter Amplify (@TwitterAmplify) campaign.

The campaign will give fans at home the chance to see live in-game replays from Chelsea (@ChelseaFC) vs Tottenham Hotspur (@SpursOfficial) on their Twitter feeds during and immediately after Sunday’s game.

The in-game and post-match clips will come from the @SkyFootball account, and will be promoted on Twitter by Capital One. The clips will feature a custom-made five-second pre-roll from Capital One. 

Theo Luke, Head of Twitter Amplify for EMEA, said: “It is great to see Sky and Capital One using Twitter Amplify to bring fans branded high-quality clips in real time.

“This campaign is a great way for Capital One to extend their ownership of this weekend’s final across Twitter with timely and relevant content that consumers will love.”

It is the first time that Capital One have run a campaign using Twitter Amplify.

The news comes as The Football League revealed that fans on Twitter will be able to Tweet to decide the colour of the Wembley arch this weekend as part of the build-up to Sunday’s final.

Football is a major passion point for Twitter users - eight of the ten most-Tweeted-about moments in the UK in 2014 were football-related. According to research, 43% of UK Twitter users follow a football club on the platform, and 44% like to watch live football.
