Blackburn Rovers boss Gary Bowyer keen to focus on clash with Cardiff City

17 February 2015

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has insisted that his side will turn their focus to their Sky Bet Championship game with Cardiff City on Tuesday, and put their FA Cup run to one side.

Rovers beat Stoke City 4-1 at the weekend to reach the Quarter-Finals of the competition, and set up a last-eight clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

But Bowyer now wants to move on from their recent Cup success and turn his side's attention back to League duties.

"Our focus now is totally on Cardiff City," he told rovers.co.uk.

"We can't do anything other than focus on that game and we need the three points.

"Full credit to the squad, we had a good win against Rotherham on the Tuesday night and they backed it up with a good performance against Stoke. It is now all about Cardiff and that is all we can do, we can just look after each game at a time.

"Don't get me wrong we are enjoying the cup run but we want to get as many points on board as we can."

Rovers are ninth in the Sky Bet Championship, 11 points adrift of the Play-Off places, while Cardiff are 17th in the table and only six points above the relegation zone after failing to win any of their last five games.
