Alex Neil hails Norwich City hat-trick hero Gary Hooper

9 February 2015

Norwich City manager Alex Neil was full of praise for hat-trick hero Gary Hooper after seeing his side brush aside struggling Blackpool 4-0 at Carrow Road

Hooper bounced back from the disappointment of being dropped from the starting line-up for the Canaries' previous game at Birmingham City with a clinical display in front of goal.

Neil said: "I should imagine Gary was disappointed he wasn't playing last week and all credit to him for his response.

"He worked really hard today, as the whole group did, and he got his reward. He took his first two goals really well and showed what a good finisher he is.

"We now need to get the maximum out of him week in, week out."

Neil was delighted with his team's performance, adding: "We worked our socks off today and got what we deserved - scoring four goals is always a good achievement regardless of the opposition while a clean sheet was also pleasing.

"Now we need to take this into the Charlton game on Tuesday where we will need to work just as hard, if not harder, to get a result."
