Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 22 review

19 December 2015

It wasn't quite the dream homecoming for Nigel Clough at Burton Albion, but the Brewers will sit top of the tree over Christmas.

The Sky Bet League 1 leaders were involved in a six-goal thriller with Doncaster Rovers, but the spoils were shared at the Pirelli Stadium.

Gillingham moved into second with a 3-0 win at 10-man Millwall, but could be leapfrogged by Walsall if they can defeat Port Vale in Sunday's final #10in10 fixture on Sky Sports.

Out of the remaining sides in the Play-Off places, Coventry City were held to a late draw by Oldham Athletic, Wigan exacted revenge on Barnsley for their recent Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat, and Peterborough slipped to a 2-0 loss at Blackpool.

Sheffield United boss Nigel Adkins returned to his former employers at Scunthorpe United and came away with a 1-0 win, a scoreline matched by Bradford City and Swindon Town who were also victorious on their travels.
