Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 21 review

13 December 2015

Burton Albion moved five points clear at the summit of Sky Bet League 1 with a 3-0 win over fellow high-flyers Gillingham.

It was the Brewers’ fourth victory on the spin, in what was their first game of the post-Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink era.

Bury and Peterborough United also moved up the standings in the top half of the table, with the Shakers beating struggling Chesterfield 1-0 and Posh sharing the spoils with Shrewsbury Town.

Swindon made it three wins in three by beating 10-man Rochdale 2-1, and Blackpool’s second success in as many games lifted them up to 19th.

Barnsley also climbed the table, but remain in the bottom four after their thrilling 3-2 win over Colchester United, who have now lost six on the bounce.

Then on Sunday, Billy Sharp grabbed the winner for Sheffield United in front of the Sky Sports cameras, as League 1 got a taste of Sky Sports' #10in10 coverage.
