Sky Bet Championship: Boxing Day review

27 December 2015

Derby County went top of the Sky Bet Championship on Boxing Day courtesy of a 2-0 win at home to Fulham.

The Rams took full advantage to displace Middlesbrough, whose game with Blackburn Rovers fell victim to the weather.

Hull City prevailed 3-0 against Burnley in the battle between fourth and fifth, while Sheffield Wednesday also cruised to victory by the same scoreline against Birmingham City.

There were late winners for Ipswich Town and Milton Keynes Dons at home to Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City respectively, while at the foot of the table, Rotherham United thumped bottom club Bolton Wanderers 4-0.

Brighton & Hove Albion couldn't muster a return to winning ways and drew 0-0 with Brentford, and Bristol City and Charlton Athletic also shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate.

In Sunday's solitary match, Sam Byram netted a second-half equaliser for Leeds United as they drew 1-1 away at Nottingham Forest.
