Middlesbrough moved to the top of the Sky Bet Championship after a superb second-half showing against Ipswich Town.
The game started brightly, and it was Ipswich who had the better of the first-half opportunities, but they found Dimi Konstantopoulos in fine form whenever they got past Boro's stubborn backline.
Aitor Karanka's men came out of the blocks quickly after the break, and it took a brilliant stop from Dean Gerken to keep Grant Leadbitter at bay. But there was nothing Gerken could do about Boro's opener, Christian Stuani heading home Albert Adomah's cross.
Then, David Nugent continued his remarkable record of scoring against the Tractor Boys - his strike was his 15th in 14 appearances against Ipswich - and it handed Boro a 2-0 lead which they never looked like losing.
As a result, Boro move top ahead of the Saturday fixtures, while Ipswich remain in eighth.
