This Saturday, Brighton & Hove Albion travel to Derby County for a clash that will potentially reshape the top of the Sky Bet Championship.Leaders Brighton go into the weekend still unbeaten, coming back from two goals down to defeat Charlton Athletic 3-2 last week, making it no losses in 19.
Derby, on the other hand, are four points behind in third and have only lost one of their last 10 outings, conceding just four goals in the process.
The Seagulls were victorious in the last meeting between these teams, but have only won once in their last six matches with Derby and are without a win at the iPro Stadium since 2011.
"It will be our toughest of the season so far"
Speaking ahead of the game, Derby's George Thorne revealed that he and his team-mates need little motivation for their game at the weekend.
“We're pleased with where we're at; we are in touching distance of the top two and that's a good place to be,” he told dcfc.co.uk.
“Credit to Brighton, they are having a fantastic season and they are finding ways to win games. We don't need much motivation for this game – we know it's a big one and a win would see us go a point behind them.”
Thorne, who scored in Derby's 4-1 win over Brighton in the 2013/14 Play-Off Semi-Final, reserved praise for the Seagulls but still feels that his side can get a result.
“They are the only team in the top four divisions not to have lost a game yet and that's some record. We will back ourselves against anyone at home and we'll be aiming for the win on Saturday.
“We're taking this game very seriously and, no doubt, it will be our toughest of the season so far.”
