Carlisle United players to help local community following Storm Desmond

7 December 2015

Carlisle United players have generously offered help to locals after Storm Desmond flooded Cumbria and its surrounding areas at the weekend.

Following their 5-0 win over Welling United in the FA Cup, Keith Curle's players discussed how they could assist after the game. As a result, the players have decided to spend their Tuesday helping the community in any way possible.

Cumbria is one of the most affected parts of the country, having been hit by more than a month's worth of rain in 24 hours. Brunton Park has also been flooded, and not for the first time this season after the pitch was waterlogged back in November.

Perhaps being inspired by the first team, Carlisle's under-18 side have also joined the efforts to help, and will be lending a hand to the local public on Tuesday.
