Capital One Cup Quarter-Final review

Manchester City, Everton and Stoke City booked their place in the last four of the Capital One Cup with convincing victories on Tuesday evening.

At the Etihad Stadium, City rounded out comfortable winners against Sky Bet Championship outfit Hull City, triumphing 4-1.

Wilfried Bony opened the scoring for the Premier League leaders, before Kelechi Iheanacho and a Kevin De Bruyne brace sealed victory in the second half.

Everton's bid to lift the League Cup for the first time remained intact, after they beat Middlesbrough 2-0 at the Riverside Stadium.

Gerard Deulofeu broke the deadlock for the Toffees with a sublime piece of individual brilliance, before Romelu Lukaku continued his fine form in front of goal to head home a second.

Stoke City made the semi-finals of the League Cup for the first time since they won the trophy back in 1972, after a comfortable 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Ibrahim Afellay put the Potters in front at the Britannia Stadium, before Phil Bardsley secured victory in the second period.

Liverpool completed the Semi-Final line-up with an emphatic win over Southampton on Wednesday night, hitting the Saints for six at St. Mary's.
