Walsall continued their unbeaten start to the Sky Bet League 1 campaign with a convincing 4-0 win at Blackpool.
The Saddlers eased to victory through a brace from Romaine Sawyers, an own goal from Tom Aldred and a strike from Sam Mantom.Dean Smith's side now top the table after Gillingham could only draw 1-1 with Peterborough United. Adedeji Oshilaja looked to have won it for the Gills after netting in the 85th minute, but Jon Taylor rescued the home side a point at the death.
There were late goals elsewhere in the division too, as Burton Albion snatched a 1-0 win at Shrewsbury Town through Mark Duffy, and Bradford City posted their first win of the season after Devante Cole clinched a last-gasp winner on his debut against Port Vale.
Doncaster Rovers also ended their winless run, beating Fleetwood Town 2-0 at the Keepmoat Stadium after goals from James Coppinger and Curtis Main.
Coventry City and Southend United rounded off the weekend with a pulsating encounter at the Ricoh Arena.
Noel Hunt and David Mooney goals for the Shrimpers were sandwiched between efforts from Reda Johnson and Sam Ricketts as the spoils were shared, but Southend had goalkeeper Dan Bentley to thank after he pulled off a second-half penalty save to deny Jim O'Brien.
