Sky Bet League 1: Matchday 4 review

22 August 2015

Gillingham moved to the top of Sky Bet League 1 courtesy of a 2-0 win over Wigan Athetic, and they are joined by Walsall who ended Coventry City's perfect record.

Gillingham and Wigan had identical head-to-head records going into Saturday's fixture, but Bradley Dack ensured bragging rights lay with the Gills after scoring twice to secure the three points.

Walsall leapfrogged Coventry courtesy of a 2-1 win at the Banks' Stadium, with Anthony Forde and Tom Bradshaw doing the damage and sending the Saddlers into the automatic promotion places.

Elsewhere, Sheffield United picked up a third successive win to climb up to fourth in the table, while Fleetwood Town made it eight goals in two games with a 4-0 crushing of Colchester United.

There was also a thriller at the Alexandra Stadium, where Crewe Alexandra and Bury shared six goals in a topsy-turvy encounter.
