Sky Bet Championship: Matchday 5 preview

Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers kick-off Matchday 5 in The Football League with their Sky Bet Championship encounter being screened live on Sky Sports on Friday.

Derby County and Leeds United then lock horns to get Saturday's action under way at lunchtime, before the 3pm kick-offs in the Sky Bet Championship.

Here's a look at what's coming up on Matchday 5 in the Sky Bet Championship (kick-off times are 3pm unless stated):

Blackburn Rovers v Bolton Wanderers (7.45pm – live on Sky Sports)

Saturday 29th August

Derby County v Leeds United (12.05pm – live on Sky Sports)
Brentford v Reading
Bristol City v Burnley
Huddersfield Town v Queens Park Rangers
Hull City v Preston North End
Ipswich Town v Brighton & Hove Albion
Milton Keynes Dons v Birmingham City
Nottingham Forest v Cardiff City
Rotherham United v Fulham
Sheffield Wednesday v Middlesbrough
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Charlton Athletic

Blackburn and Bolton are yet to record a victory this term but know a win could kick-start their respective seasons, particularly as the Lancashire bragging rights will be on the line in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Derby County's Saturday lunchtime encounter with Leeds United looks set to be an interesting one with the duo unbeaten so far, but gunning for their first three points of the campaign.

Ipswich Town and Brighton & Hove Albion are level-pegging at the summit with 10 points each from their first four, and the pair go head-to-head at Portman Road on Saturday.

Third-placed Charlton Athletic are at Wolverhampton Wanderers, while MK Dons, Hull City and Queens Park Rangers – all on seven points – face Birmingham City, Preston North End and Huddersfield Town respectively.

Rotherham United prop the division up with only one point recorded so far, ahead of their weekend clash at home to Fulham, who are also yet to taste victory.
