York City boss Russ Wilcox was delighted to see his side notch their first points of the season and climb up the Sky Bet League 2 table.
The Minstermen lost their first two fixtures in the divison and, although they did advance in Round 1 of the Capital One Cup, Wilcox is pleased to have opened their account for the 2015/16 season."I'm delighted to get off the mark league-wise," Wilcox told Minstermen Player.
"You look at the table now and we're three points off the Play-Offs. People might chuckle at that but it’s a positive mindset that you can put towards the players."
The 1-0 victory over Yeovil Town came courtesy of a James Berrett deflected effort, and it was a welcome win at Bootham Crescent, where York only won five of their 23 league fixtures last term.
"It's huge [to get a home win]," the 51-year-old added.
"We've spoken all summer about improving the home form, got a clean sheet as well – I'm always happy with that as a defender myself.
"It wasn't as fluent and we didn't play as much football as we did on Saturday, we found it hard to get out at times. But in other periods we did pass the ball well and I think that was key.
“We were fortuitous with the goal but if you don't shoot then you don't score."
