Rochdale manager Keith Hill determined to maintain winning start against Walsall

18 August 2015

Rochdale boss Keith Hill wants his side to continue their perfect start to the Sky Bet League 1 season when they face Walsall on Tuesday.

Dale won both of their opening fixtures 2-0, against Peterborough United and Blackpool, and also defeated Coventry City on penalties in Round 1 of the Capital One Cup a week ago.

Now, they host a Walsall side who have also gone unbeaten in the new campaign, and manager Hill wants his squad to raise their game further.

“It has been a good start. Obviously we’re only two games into our league campaign, but we want to try and maintain our form, and more importantly, we want to try and maintain the results," he told rochdaleafc.co.uk.

“I’m pleased with the first week and there’s a lot of optimism and a lot of confidence. I’m also pleased with what we’re producing at this moment in time but we want to improve and we want to continue trying to be successful on the pitch.

“There are still question marks and there are going to be question marks throughout the course of the season, but we’ve got to keep raising the bar.

“We’ve got to keep asking questions of the players, of the tactics and of the shape of the team, with respect to the opposition, and we’ve got to keep coming up with permutations to get results on the pitch.

“At this moment in time, everyone is signing from the same song sheet and we’re reasonably happy, but again, I must stress that we are only at the end of week one.”
