More to come from Stevenage - Teddy Sheringham

24 August 2015

Stevenage manager Teddy Sheringham believes there's more to come from his side after they picked up their first win of the season by beating Hartlepool United.

Pools were previously unbeaten in Sky Bet League 2 but Sheringham's men ended that by recording a 2-0 success, courtesy of goals from Fraser Franks and Brett Williams.

The manager was pleased with the victory but insisted there's more to come from his charges.

“For two different reasons; two fantastic goals for us,” he said, to stevenagefc.com.

“I'm delighted for Fraser to get his head on one and give us all a lift and then for Brett to get off the mark is great for him as well.

“I know that wasn’t a great performance, there is a lot more we can do out there and we will be working to improve.

“You have to grind out results sometimes and we did that today.”

Over the moon to get my first goal for @StevenageFC as well! thanks for all the messages 👍 pic.twitter.com/T9XqRT76c6
