Justin Edinburgh feels Gillingham deserved win against Bradford City

19 August 2015

Justin Edinburgh believes that his Gillingham side put in their finest performance of the season so far to beat Bradford City 2-1 at Valley Parade on Tuesday.

The Gills came from behind to get the victory, with Luke Norris’ strike and an own goal from James Hanson providing them with the three points.

It was a result which lifted Edinburgh’s men into second place in Sky Bet League 1, and he was delighted with the way his charges applied themselves.

“I thought it was very much deserved and it was probably our best performance to date,” the 45-year-old, who has lost just four of his 22 matches as Gillingham manager, said to the club’s official site.

“To fall behind was disappointing but the character we showed again to claw ourselves back into the game and go on and win it was testament to this group of players.

“I think we got our just desserts today. There is a great togetherness in that group and I don’t think you will find a younger starting XI in any league.

“It’s a good start and a good foundation and we want to keep the momentum going.”
