The Football League has agreed to the re-arrangement of Brentford’s Sky Bet Championship match with Birmingham City on Tuesday 18th August in order to give the Bees the opportunity to re-lay the Griffin Park pitch following problems with the playing surface at the clubs’ first two home fixtures.
A Football League spokesman said: "Brentford proactively approached the League earlier today as the club wishes to re-lay its pitch at the first possible opportunity whilst causing the least possible disruption to the fixture schedule. Having gained the League’s approval, Brentford approached Birmingham City who also agreed to the change of date.
“We would like to thank Birmingham for their co-operation with this matter, as well as both sets of supporters who will have a better football match to watch as a result of this action - as will fans attending the club's other home matches during the rest of the 2015/16 season."
Brentford v Birmingham City will now be played on Tuesday 29th September 2015. All tickets purchased for the match will be valid for the new date.ased for the match will be valid for the new date.
