Plymouth Argyle manager Derek Adams was delighted with his side as they beat Newport County 1-0 to go second in the Sky Bet League 2 table.
Summer signing Graham Carey scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute, firing first time into the top corner for his fourth of the season.Newport's best effort was from second-half sub Zak Ansah, on loan from Charlton, who also hit the bar, with a rising drive, but they failed to draw level as the Pilgrims maintained their impressive start.

Adams said: "I am happy with another clean sheet, happy with another three points going forward and delighted with the start we've made.
"It was a fantastic finish from Graham, from a well-worked throw-in by Gary Sawyer into Brunt, who held the ball up and laid it off well.
"It was just one of the numerous opportunities that we had in the first half and we really needed to score in the first half because the second half can always be different.
"To their credit Newport threw caution to the wind at the end and threw a lot of players forward.
"In football when you have a lot of chances you always have to be wary of not taking your chances but I felt we had control of the match and played some really good football at times.
"We managed to open up Newport's defence but you want to score goals and their keeper had to make some good saves.
"The score line should have been more for us given the standard of our performance."
