Carlisle United caused the biggest shock of Round 2 in the Capital One Cup as they saw off Queens Park Rangers 2-1 at Loftus Road in a pulsating round of action.

The ball hit the back of the net 80 times in total on Tuesday night of Round 2 and five games featured five goals in a 4-1 scoreline.
A Joe Dodoo debut hat-trick fired Leicester City to success at Bury, while Ipswich Town needed extra-time to eventually see off Doncaster Rovers.
It was also 4-1 at St James’ Park, where Newcastle United comfortably eased past Northampton Town, and Charlton Athletic hit four against Peterborough United.
The other game to finish 4-1 was between Crystal Palace and Shrewsbury Town. Despite the League 1 Shrews taking the lead, Palace eventually turned it around around to advance after extra-time.
Elsewhere, Aston Villa and Sunderland were made to work hard for victories against Football League opposition, with the top-flight duo eventually seeing off Notts County (5-3) and Exeter City (6-3) respectively.

Two games went all the way to penalties, with Stoke City overcoming Luton Town 8-7 on spot kicks live on Sky Sports, and West Bromwich Albion beating Port Vale 5-3 from 12 yards.
On Wednesday, Everton beat Barnsley 5-3 at Oakwell in what was a pulsating match to conclude the Round 2 action.
