Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill taking nothing for granted ahead of Luton Town test

11 August 2015

Steve Cotterill predicts that his Bristol City side will face a tough test when they play Luton Town in Round 1 of the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

Although the Robins sit two divisions above previous League Cup winners Luton, Cotterill insists that his side cannot afford to be complacent, especially as they were knocked out of the competition by Sky Bet League 2 outfit Oxford United last year.

The Hatters’ form at Kenilworth Road was impressive during the 2014/15 campaign, and it means that the 51-year-old boss is not taking his team’s progress for granted.

“They did very well at home last year,” Cotterill said to Bristol City’s official site. “They got a lot of points and goals when they were at home.

“They signed some good players in the summer and they’re one of the favourites to win League 2 so it’s going to be a difficult game.

“I always want to win. We wanted to win when we played Oxford last year - but we didn’t - so it’s no different really."
