Friday night's Lancashire derby saw Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers battle out a goalless draw in the Sky Bet Championship.
Both sides have made slow starts to 2015/16 and that continued with neither side able to find a breakthrough in the first period, although Blackburn had the better of proceedings throughout much of the opening 45 minutes.Bolton started the second half brightly, but nothing came of it and the hosts gradually got back on the front foot. Tommy Spurr had a header cleared off the line by Trotters midfielder Mark Davies, with Fode Koita firing the rebound over.
Koita later had a goal disallowed for offside, which was shortly followed by Bolton's biggest chance - an Emile Heskey effort blocked on the line by Shane Duffy.
Dorian Dervite was dismissed deep into stoppage time for the visitors, but Rovers didn't have time to make their numerical advantage count and 0-0 was the final result.
