The first game of the weekend in The Football League ended level as Birmingham City and Derby County battled out a 1-1 draw at St. Andrew’s on Friday.
Stephen Gleeson opened the scoring just before the half-time whistle when his 30-yard effort deflected off a Derby defender and nestled in the bottom corner. It was the midfielder’s first goal for the club in what was his 45th game, but it wasn’t enough for victory.
The Rams hit back in the second half and deservedly levelled when Johnny Russell finished a good move under pressure on the left-hand side.
The result means Derby have drawn their first four matches of the Sky Bet Championship season.
