Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month nominations

7 April 2015

The nominations for the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month award for March.

Billy Bingham (Dagenham & Redbridge)

A passing influence with an ability to find a team-mate, Bingham’s beautifully floated ball set up a goal against Plymouth Argyle. If a 25-yard low strike at Tranmere Rovers was good, the 30-yard thunderbolt free-kick against Hartlepool United was special.

Bobby Grant (Shrewsbury Town)

Grant responded to being left out the side in the best way possible, with a string of creative performances and a private goal of the month competition. Of his five goals, two strikes from distance at Portsmouth stood out.

Scott Harrison (Hartlepool United)

Harrison, a young defender, typifies the fighting spirit that has lifted Pools out of the bottom two – he’s brave, and dominant in the air. He was left concussed against Mansfield Town but returned to score a volleyed winner against Cambridge United.

Jon McLaughlin (Burton Albion)

Burton stopper McLaughlin displayed impeccable handling throughout the month. He conceded just three goals, contributing mightily to the Brewers’ promotion push when he achieved the rare feat of saving a penalty in successive games, against Southend United and Tranmere Rovers.

The winners will be announced on Friday.
