Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month nominations

9 April 2015

The nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for March.

Michail Antonio (Nottingham Forest)

The player who inspired Forest’s breathtaking start to the season is at it again. Turning defenders this way and that in the 2-1 win over Middlesbrough, Antonio's two goals in March included a brilliant run and unerring shot against Rotherham United.

Patrick Bamford (Middlesbrough)

Returning to former club Derby County, Bamford was coolness personified when scoring the only goal in a vital game between the promotion rivals. He also displayed more neat footwork and calm finishes against Ipswich Town, among his four goals in five games.

Steve Cook (Bournemouth)

Arguably forgotten among Bournemouth’s attacking play has been their solidity at the back. Cook’s reading of the game was vital in conceding just three goals in March, while he also scored with a superb swerving strike in the 5-1 win at Fulham.

Troy Deeney (Watford)

Leading by example, Deeney's five goals in five games could not have been more important to Watford’s automatic promotion push – none more so than his brace in the 2-0 win at Wigan Athletic that included a typically powerful flying header.

The winner will be announced on Friday.
