Notts County boss Ricardo Moniz: The bottom line is that we must win

24 April 2015

Notts County manager Ricardo Moniz believes Saturday is a ‘momentous occasion’ and says his side must win against Doncaster Rovers.

The Magpies have slipped into Sky Bet League 1’s bottom four after 11 winless matches, and are two points from safety with two games to play.

The first of those is at Meadow Lane against mid-table Doncaster and Moniz, who took over at the beginning of April, has highlighted the importance of the match.

On County’s official website, he said: “The bottom line is that we must win.

“There is no doubt about the need for three points to retain our position in League 1 and being our final home match it is imperative that we, and I mean we, the entire club, need to take ownership of Saturdays fixture in all areas.

“Absolute and selfless commitment is needed from our team. From our supporters we need you to take the home advantage to a new level in terms of attendance, support, and noise.

“Success is measured by our next challenge.

“All of the history and our season to this point has been written and has no bearing on Saturday’s fixture and our fight to rise out of the relegation zone.

“Whilst cup finals, Play-Off finals, derbies, all have special places in our hearts throughout our time supporting our club, getting positive results in matches such as this clash with Doncaster are also about success.”
