Kenwyne Jones excited by Bournemouth opportunity

1 April 2015

New Bournemouth loanee Kenwyne Jones says he is excited at the opportunity of joining the Sky Bet Championship leaders.

Jones arrived on the south coast last week from Cardiff City, where he scored 13 goals in 36 appearances over a 14-month period with the Welsh club.

The 30-year-old admits he is relishing the prospect of turning out for the promotion-chasing Cherries, and that he has already been impressed by manager Eddie Howe.

“Over the last few days of training with the team and interacting with them and the manager, it’s a true indication of where they are,” Jones told the club's official website.

“The way they train, the way they prepare, has been on point. In all honesty, over my career it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

“I’m quite excited by it and I think they do have the formula to do well so kudos to the manager, the staff and the football club for the way they have been going about their business, and hopefully they’ll be able to take that into the last seven games and also into next season.

“It’s been a short time but I’m very much impressed with his [Eddie Howe’s] work rate and his attention to detail and his philosophy, so I think on the club front for me, without fail, he’s probably the best manager I’ve worked with, in that short space of time.”

Jones could make his debut for Bournemouth on Friday when they travel to fellow promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town for the first of seven remaining Sky Bet Championship fixtures this season.
