Four and counting for Dagenham & Redbridge against Carlisle United

10 April 2015

Dagenham & Redbridge visit Carlisle United this weekend searching for a fifth consecutive victory against the Cumbrians.

And the Daggers' last four games against Carlisle have seen them score one, two, three and then four – the latter coming in the reverse fixture back in November, courtesy of a 4-2 victory.

So what are the chances of Wayne Burnett's side extending that pattern this weekend by netting five goals at Brunton Park?

Well, no team in Sky Bet League 2 has conceded more than Carlisle this term. The Cumbrians have leaked 69 goals in 2014/15, with 34 of those coming at home – another unwanted divisional high.

They have conceded five once this season, when they suffered a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Cambridge United, although that result came in August, a month before the start of Keith Curle's tenure.

And the Daggers haven't managed to score that amount in the league this term, although they memorably shared 12 goals with Brentford in the Capital One Cup back in August.

They did, however, grab four last week in a convincing win over AFC Wimbledon – a result which sees them sitting comfortably in mid-table with just five games remaining.

And they have the prolific Jamie Cureton to rely on up front. The evergreen striker scored three against the Dons, taking him to 18 goals this term, and 276 overall during his 21-year professional career.
