Port Vale reached the Final Third Development League Cup final in an action-packed week.
Final Third Development League Cup - Northern SectionPort Vale advanced to the Final Third Development League Cup final with an emphatic 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic.
The Valiants, who also pipped Wigan to the West Division title this term, took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Dan Turner.
Chekaine Steele and Jonny Kapend extended the lead, before Turner completed the rout late on.
Final Third Development League - East Division
Mansfield Town and Hartlepool United shared the spoils last Friday, battling out a 1-1 draw. Pools led through Jack Blackford, but Luke Armstrong replied to earn the Stags a point.
On Monday, Mansfield concluded their campaign against Gateshead with a 2-1 defeat. The Stags went in front courtesy of Liam Hearn's penalty, but late goals from Dillon Morse and Tom Marshall turned the game around.
Gateshead ensured second place in the East Division on Wednesday thanks to a 2-2 draw at Burton Albion.
Marshall found the net again but the Brewers scored twice to take the lead, before Mechack Kanda grabbed the equaliser.
Elsewhere, Scunthorpe United beat Rotherham United 3-0 to clinch fourth spot with goals from Jack Dyche, Billy Kee and Piteu Crouz.
Final Third Development League – West Division
Two West Division games on Tuesday afternoon resulted in two draws.
Morecambe and Shrewsbury Town drew 1-1, with Padraig Amond putting the Shrimps ahead in the 74th minute. However, the lead didn't last long as Dominic Smith restored parity 10 minutes later.
In the other fixture, Walsall and Tranmere Rovers shared a goalless stalemate in the Midlands.
Final Third Development League – South Division
AFC Wimbledon ended their campaign with a fine 2-0 win over Peterborough United, with Dan Agyei and George Oakley securing all three points.
Portsmouth clinched second place in the South Division following an entertaining affair with Cambridge United on Tuesday afternoon.
Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain put Pompey in front, but they trailed to the U's at half-time after two Ollie Pearce goals.
However, Tom Craddock and Brandon Joseph-Buadi led the second-half comeback, with the south coast club going on to win 3-2.
Meanwhile, Luke Holmes and Jake Sellens earned Gillingham three points at Leyton Orient, scoring either side of Scott Kashket's effort to hand the Gills a 2-1 triumph.
