Bobby Grant named Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month

10 April 2015

Shrewsbury Town's Bobby Grant has been named the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month for March.

Grant responded to being left out the side in the best way possible, with a string of creative performances and a private goal of the month competition.

Of his five goals, two strikes from distance at Portsmouth stood out.

Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon said: "The award is recognition of the good month that Bobby and the team have had.

“His goals have been very important to help our recent good league form to continue.

“Bobby is a creative player, but as has been shown recently, he is also a player who can get you goals."

Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “The Blackpool loanee has had a great month for Shrewsbury in their hunt for automatic promotion.

“His goals alone secured seven points for Town, with decisive strikes against Portsmouth and Accrington Stanley.”

Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery said: “Bobby Grant has picked a great time to start finding the net for his side, with five goals in March.

“This has seen the Shrews tighten their grip on an automatic promotion spot as well as amassing the highest number of goals in League 2 so far this season.”

The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
