April Fools' Day Football League round-up

1 April 2015

Football League clubs have once again come up trumps on social media on April Fools' Day, and we've rounded up some of the best.

Charlton Athletic went for the new kit approach, by announcing a historic new partnership with Spanish outfit AD Alcorcon.

Staying in the Sky Bet Championship, where Brighton & Hove Albion announced the trial of goal music at the AMEX to boost the atmosphere inside the stadium. The Seagulls planned to sample a new tune for every goal they scored between now and the end of the season, so no doubt they were hoping for quite an extensive playlist!

Milton Keynes Dons partnered with Capital One for their fool, telling their followers 'Selfie Spots' were going to be introduced in the Capital One Cup after trial at stadiummk, with the help of player Giorgio Rasulo. Great pose Giorgio!

On the subject of images, hats off to whoever edits the visuals at Chesterfield, who fooled their fans into thinking they'd have to pay to use the toilets at the Proact Stadium. The old saying of going to 'spend a penny' wouldn't quite work, with club director Ashley Carson joking it would set the fans back 10p for a comfort break.

To try and improve concourse facilities, toilet turnstiles are being installed at the Proact.

Doncaster Rovers were looking to turn to tradition to help them to three points against fellow Yorkshire outfit Bradford City following an approach from a local historian. Their Good Friday fixture was set to be preceded by the players and staff drinking gravy, while wearing Yorkshire puddings in their pants. We're not sure that would have been the best idea - a yorkie and gravy should be saved for Sunday afternoon.

Fulham weren't willing to get involved in the annual tomfoolery though – the Cottagers just opted for a photo of their former no-nonsense midfielder Papa Bouba Diop celebrating a late winner back in 2005.

We had planned to April Fools' you all, but we're too kind. Here's Papa Bouba Diop celebrating a late winner instead.
