Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed former Manchester City defender George Swan for their under-21 squad.
The 19-year-old has penned a deal until Christmas to prove he has overcome recent injury problems.
Swan, who suffered a knee injury at the Etihad, left City at the end of last season and had previously captained their under-18 side.
"He has had a lot of injuries in a young career so far and looks a good player at under-21 level," head coach Kenny Jackett told the club's official site.
"We want to give him that platform now to get over those injuries, which have been extensive, and see if he can come through it and show the potential that he showed previously.
"We are giving him a window to window opportunity where we can work really hard with him one, to stay fit and play, and after that try to build up his overall fitness to do justice to the considerable amount of talent that he has.
"He has had injury problems but he is young enough to come through that and has been here a number of weeks and Scott (Sellars, under-21 coach) knows him well from his time with Manchester City.
"He wants to play and get on the ball and is good in both boxes to it will be interesting to see how he develops over the next few months."
