Table-toppers Peterborough secured a third straight Sky Bet League 1 victory when brushing aside Port Vale 3-1 at London Road.
Goals from Marcus Maddison, Kyle Vassell and Jack Payne put Posh in control of proceedings, before Jordan Slew bagged a late consolation for the visitors.
Bristol City remain just one point off the pace thanks to a 2-0 triumph over Scunthorpe United at Ashton Gate, with Aden Flint and Greg Cunningham getting on the scoresheet.
