Weekend in numbers

20 October 2014

We take a look at the numbers that make up the weekend's Sky Bet Football League action.

1 - Bristol City are now the only unbeaten team in The Football League this term, after Nottingham Forest and Charlton Athletic both lost at the weekend.

1 - Crewe Alexandra won 1-0 at Walsall to record their first away victory of the season, along with their first clean sheet.

1 - Coventry City have only tabled one point from the last 18 available, after Saturday's defeat to Bristol City.

2 - Blackpool scored twice in a game for the first time this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough for three points as they lost 4-2 to Huddersfield Town.

2 - Morecambe found the net twice in two second-half minutes to triumph 2-0 at the Pirelli Stadium against Burton Albion.

3 - The three managers making their dugout debut at their respective new clubs in the Sky Bet Championship at the weekend - Neil Lennon, Russell Slade and Slavisa Jokanovic - all won.

4 - Shrewsbury Town's last four away games have all ended 1-0, after their narrow win at York on Saturday. In all competitions, seven of the Shrews' last 10 games have finished 1-0.

4 - Derby haven't conceded a goal in the league for four games after keeping a clean sheet against Reading.

5 - It's now five successive wins for John Still's Luton in Sky Bet League 2, following a 2-1 victory at Hartlepool United. At the other end, Tranmere Rovers have lost five on the bounce after going down 2-0 to Oxford.

5 - Portsmouth haven't scored on the road in five away trips, losing 3-0 at Bury on Saturday.

6 - That result was Bury's sixth straight home league victory.

6 - Reading had six shots on target against Derby on Saturday, one more than the Rams, who won 3-0, had.

6 - Plymouth Argyle triumphed 1-0 against Carlisle United to make it four wins on the bounce, for the first time in six seasons.

7 - Cheltenham Town ended a seven-game winless run by beating Northampton Town 3-2.

8 - Norwich City have now gone eight league games without scoring a first-half goal.

8 - Brighton are without a win in eight league games. Their last victory came against Bolton Wanderers on 23rd August.

11 - Oldham Athletic are now unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions after a 1-1 draw at Chesterfield.

11 - Wolves let in just three goals over their first eight Sky Bet Championship games this term, but have conceded 11 in their last four.

14 - Shrewsbury's 1-0 success at York City was their first win on the road since 22nd February - 14 away games without a victory.

20 - Bradford City's Stephen Darby was sent off just 20 seconds into the second half against Sheffield United, when he received his second yellow card. Bantams manager Phil Parkinson hadn't even made his way back to the home dugout after the interval.

24 - Birmingham City’s poor home form continued as they lost to Bolton. That result means they've won just once at home in 24 outings.

31 - Norwich were awarded a penalty at Fulham only 31 seconds into the second half. Unfortunately for the Canaries, Lewis Grabban couldn't find the net from 12 yards.

33 - Notts County's Garry Thompson scored his first senior career hat-trick at the weekend, at the age of 33.

50 - In his 50th match for Bristol City, against Coventry, Marlon Pack netted his first goal for the club.

1990 - Middlesbrough remain unbeaten at Brighton & Hove Albion since 1990, after winning 2-1 at the Amex Stadium.
