Steve Davis hails Crewe Alexandra revival

23 October 2014

Steve Davis admits his Crewe Alexandra players have worked hard to move off the bottom of Sky Bet League 1, following their third successive victory on Tuesday.

Crewe beat Peterborough United 1-0 to lift them off the bottom of the table, and they now remain in the relegation places only on goal difference.

A Marcus Haber penalty secured the Railwaymen the win against a Peterborough side who finished with nine men after the dismissals of Michael Bostwick and James Baldwin.

Manager Davis has hailed his sides run of form, and believes work on the training ground has been the key to their revival.

"To get three wins is a great credit to the lads," said Davis.

"It is very close down there and they have worked really hard to turn it around.  They look a lot fitter and are putting in performances with a high level of energy."
