Ryan Williams makes Barnsley switch

2 October 2014

Barnsley have signed winger Ryan Williams on loan from Fulham.

The 20-year-old has signed an initial one-month loan and is expected to go straight into the Reds' squad for Saturday's league game at former boss Keith Hill's Rochdale.

"Ryan's someone we've targeted for a long time," Barnsley boss Danny Wilson told the club's official website.

"He gives us some extra quality in wide areas. We're still trying to bring a couple more in and we might get a bit of luck soon."

Australia-born Williams started out at Portsmouth before joining Fulham in January 2012 and spent time on loan last season at Oxford, scoring eight goals in 42 appearances.

Wilson added: "His skills vary in terms of working in the supply line. He can run the ball well and is quick, he can also put the ball into the box well.

"He knows the other side of his game and is very conscientious of helping out defensively and positional-wise."
