Rob Page appointed manager of Port Vale

29 October 2014

Port Vale have announced this afternoon that Rob Page has been appointed manager of the club on a full-time basis.

Page had been in caretaker charge of the Sky Bet League 1 side since the departure of Micky Adams in September.

The former defender, who has led the Valiants to wins over Barnsley, Yeovil Town and Leyton Orient since taking temporary charge, has been put in charge at Vale Park until at least the end of the season.

Speaking to the club website following his appointment, Page said: "I am really pleased. I had a conversation with the chairman and he has offered me the opportunity to manage the club, which I am very grateful for.

"I think the difference in the approach to games, especially at home, is there for everyone to see and long may it continue.

"This is a proud moment for myself and I would like to thank the fans and players for their support, which will continue to be important in the future."
