Chesterfield have signed Huddersfield Town midfielder Oscar Gobern on a month-long loan deal.Gobern will remain with the Spireites at the Proact Stadium until November 19 and the 23-year-old is expected to go straight into their squad for the Sky Bet League 1 fixture at Walsall on Saturday.
Blues boss Paul Cook explained the thinking behind the decision to recruit Gobern, saying: "Daniel Johnson is returning to Aston Villa after the Yeovil match so it's important we have options available within the squad.
"It is important that we have the right balance in the team as I have felt that the balance has not been correct in the last couple of weeks. The likelihood is that there will be further activity in the transfer market in the coming weeks."
Gobern began his career at Southampton and made 21 appearances for the Saints before joining Huddersfield in the summer of 2011. The former England Under-19 international has made over 50 appearances for the West Yorkshire club.
