Burton Albion boss Gary Rowett is ready to open talks with Birmingham City - but vowed he will not be distracted. The former St Andrew's defender has been granted permission to speak to Blues as they search for Lee Clark's replacement.
He has guided the Brewers to second in Sky Bet League 2 this season and they were beaten in the Play-Off final by Fleetwood Town last term.
Rowett rejected the chance to join Blackpool in September and insisted he is still focused on Burton's trip to Stevenage on Saturday.
"I would like to speak to them, which I will do over the next few days, and that's it," Rowett told the Burton Mail.
"As you do with any of these things, you've got to listen and ask relevant questions and they ask you relevant questions.
"Everyone listens and makes a decision.
"My mind, though, is on the Stevenage game at the weekend.
"I've said all along it would have to be a special job for me to want to leave Burton."
