Chesterfield striker Eoin Doyle has been named the Sky Bet League 1 Player of the Month for September.
Doyle hit hat-tricks in successive games – against Scunthorpe United and Preston North End - and his tally for the month reached seven in four games. His willingness to chase lost causes makes him a favourite with the fans, and his team-mates.
Chesterfield manager Paul Cook said: "I am delighted that Eoin's excellent form has been recognised in this way.
“He fully deserves the award as he always works hard for the team, which is something we all appreciate."
Sky Sports’ Football League pundit Don Goodman said: “Hats off to Eoin, scoring hat-tricks in successive games is a huge achievement.
“The fans love him, and no wonder. As well as scoring goals, he doesn't give up lost causes and must be a nightmare before defenders to play against.”
Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery said: “Eoin’s hat-tricks were priced at 40/1 against Preston, and 33/1 against Scunthorpe. He’s now 5/2 to top the League 1 goal-scoring chart at the end of the season – down from 25/1.”
The judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month comprises Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.
