Colchester have re-signed midfielder David Fox on a three-month deal. The 30-year-old made 21 appearances for the club during the 2009/10 campaign before enjoying a four-year spell with Norwich.
Fox was released by the Canaries in the summer and won a contract at Colchester after impressing on trial.
"David adds experience to a young squad," boss Tony Humes told the club's official website.
"He fits our profile of how we want to play the game and will be a good addition to the squad for the coming months."
The U's have also added Ipswich Town defender Elliott Hewitt on a one-month loan deal.
The Wales Under-21 international has featured four times for the Tractor Boys this season but only once since mid-August.
"We're pleased to have Elliott join up with us on loan," Humes added.
