Chris Shuker returns to Tranmere Rovers as coach

20 October 2014

Micky Adams has shaken up the coaching staff at Tranmere on his first day, bringing former Rovers winger Chris Shuker back to the club.

Shuker made nearly 150 appearances at Prenton Park in the previous decade and the 32-year-old has now been reunited with Adams, whom he played for at Port Vale.

"Chris is someone who knows the club well and I'm pleased he's come back to join the coaching staff," Adams, who began work officially on Monday, told the Sky Bet League 2 club's official website.

"He played for me at Port Vale where he was a really positive influence on the dressing room and I know he'll be doing everything he can to help us climb the league."

Meanwhile, the club have parted ways with first-team coach Alex Russell.
