Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill staying grounded

20 October 2014

Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill was delighted with his side's 3-1 victory at Coventry City, which saw them maintain their five-point lead at the top of Sky Bet League 1.

Goals from Marlon Pack, Kieran Agard and Scott Wagstaff secured a hard-fought three points for the Robins after Shaun Miller's goal for Coventry had threatened to haul the home side back in it.

City are the only unbeaten club in the league this season, but Cotterill was quick to dismiss the statistics.

"We're pleased with our performance and our goals," Cotterill said.

"But - I'm not giving myself a pat on the back - the substitutes helped us, they gave us a little bit more energy to get the points.

"But I'm really pleased with our response, our goals were excellent. It's a fantastic win against a really good side.

"We are unbeaten but we haven't won anything yet - it doesn't matter. I'm sure the press will make more of it than we do."
