Barnsley have signed striker Mike Phenix from Vanarama Conference Premier side AFC Telford for an undisclosed fee.
Reds boss Danny Wilson had been looking to bring in a big target man since the club sold Chris O'Grady to Brighton for £2million during the summer."I'm chuffed to bits," the 25-year-old Phenix, who was on non-contract terms at Telford, told Barnsley's official website. "It's a bit overwhelming to be honest.
"It came about (on Wednesday night). My manager told me about the interest and it was a no-brainer.
"It all happened overnight and was a bit mad. I just thought I'd go for it and hopefully I can bring some success."
