Brighton & Hove Albion boss Sami Hyypia admitted his relief after a 1-0 home victory over Wigan Athletic.
Midfielder Gary Gardner, on loan from Aston Villa, hit the only goal after just 54 seconds as the Seagulls pulled off their first Sky Bet Championship win in 12 attempts.Brighton had won only one of their previous seven home league games and former Liverpool defender Hyypia said: "It's a great feeling to win the game.
"It was very important to win in this situation and the team showed a lot of character.
"It's a big relief to get the win; I just concentrate on my job and work with the pressures. I do what I believe.
"I make my own pressures as for outside pressures, I don't really care."
Hyypia drafted in former Brighton winger Elliott Bennett, on loan from Championship rivals Norwich, and felt the player made a considerable difference on his return to the team.
"Elliott showed his quality and he can only help us," the Finn said. "He has grown into the team already.
"He is a great character with his banter and he rallied the troops during the game. He loves his football and will be good for us."
Hyypia has set his men a target of following up this victory by beating Blackburn at home on Saturday and added: "The aim is to get back-to-back wins, and it will be a good way to go into the international break."
