Walsall fans will get the chance to get up close and personal with the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy next week, before their team aims to move a step closer to winning it.
The Saddlers aim to keep alive their dream of a first ever trip to Wembley in their history when they take on Sheffield United in the Area Quarter-Final tie which has been selected for live television coverage by Sky Sports on Wednesday 12th November. To mark the occasion, the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy will be on display throughout the day at the Johnstone’s Decorating Centre Walsall.
Regular trade painter and decorator customers, as well as members of the general public, will be invited to the Decorating Centre – based on Queen Street in Walsall (WS2 9QD) – throughout the day of the game to view and have their pictures taken with the trophy between 10am and 4.30pm.
People visiting throughout the day will also have the chance to enter a draw to win a replica Johnstone’s Paint Trophy football.
Ben Wilde, brand and sponsorship manager for Johnstone’s Paint, said: “We are getting to a really exciting stage of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy for Walsall and the other 15 clubs in the competition because Wembley is not too far away.
“As they are still striving for their first ever trip to Wembley, Walsall have extra reason to reach this season’s final and what better way for fans to get in the mood for the big game than to have a glimpse of, and get their picture taken with, the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.”
Having received a bye in the first round, Walsall booked their place in the Area Quarter-Final courtesy of a 1-0 triumph at Rochdale thanks to a goal from Mathieu Manset.
The trophy visit forms part of Johnstone’s Paint’s ninth year of sponsorship of the Football League Trophy.
