The nominations for the Sky Bet League 1 Manager of the Month award for October.
Steve Davis (Crewe Alexandra)Boardroom trust was repaid handsomely by Davis who stuck to the Alex principles of doing things the right way to secure successive wins against Coventry City, Walsall and Peterborough United and move his team off the foot of Sky Bet League 1.
Shaun Derry (Notts County)
It was a perfect month for Derry and County with four wins achieved in different manners – a thrilling attacking display to beat Crawley Town 5-3, a 3-2 comeback victory at Barnsley and two gritty 1-0 triumphs, which reflected Derry’s playing philosophy.
Simon Grayson (Preston North End)
Grayson was another manager with a perfect October record, as his side gained a maximum 15 points from five games, scoring 12 goals in the process. The Preston boss has dealt with high expectations at Deepdale in his usual unflappable manner.
Lee Johnson (Oldham Athletic)
Johnson lifted Oldham into the Play-Off picture by preaching the passing game, shrewd planning and fine man-management. Three home victories were supplemented by impressive draws at Peterborough United and Chesterfield to yield 11 points.
The winners will be announced on Friday.
