Sheffield Wednesday land Lewis McGugan

19 November 2014

Sheffield Wednesday have signed midfielder Lewis McGugan on loan from Watford.

McGugan will stay with the club until January 1 and is expected to go straight into manager Stuart Gray's squad for Saturday's Yorkshire derby at Huddersfield Town.

The 26-year-old scored 44 goals in over 200 appearances for Nottingham Forest during a seven-year spell at the City Ground after progressing through their academy.

He moved on to Watford in July 2013 and signed a three-year contract at Vicarage Road, scoring 11 goals in 37 appearances last season.

McGugan has found it harder to hold down a place in Watford's starting line-up this time around and has been restricted to seven appearances.
