Mixed emotions for MK Dons boss Karl Robinson

26 November 2014

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson admitted after his side's 2-2 draw with Rochdale he was frustrated with the result but he praised their fighting spirit.

The Dons missed a host of chances which looked like costing them when Reuben Noble-Lazarus' stunning goal put the visitors ahead only for substitute Green to come to their rescue.

The hosts moved to within five points of Sky Bet League 1 leaders Bristol City and Robinson said: "I'm frustrated because we've done enough to win the game.

"Will Grigg was sensational first half, the best player on the pitch, and he caused problems all night but one or two players in the first half were not at the races.

"I think in the first 20 minutes they haven't had a shot on goal and the second half their goal was the only shot they had.

"I'm very pleased with the players - I thought the players conducted themselves wonderfully well and I thought the fans were excellent.

"We may have lost that in years gone by when it wouldn't have gone quite our way but he hustled and we rolled our sleeves up.

"We missed chances but we kept putting ourselves in positions to miss them, we didn't turn anything down.

"We're the leading scorers in the league at home and we've kept nine clean sheets so that's a positive."
